Overview
In partnership with Understood, this virtual learning module (the first in a series to be released in 20-21), provides a primer on how to approach the way we support students with Learning and Thinking Differences (LTD), starting from a place of empathy. During the module, we consider “neuromyths”, or misconceptions that antagonize students with LTD (e.g. learning disabilities are caused by laziness). We then practice what it looks like to listen and observe students with compassionate curiosity, by watching video testimonials and studying student work, with an assets-based orientation. This VLM is recommended as a way to help shift the mindset of school teams.
