Overview

In partnership with Understood, this virtual learning module (the second in a series of two), explores cognitive load. Cognitive load is a concept that helps us understand how our brains process new learning and information. Through this discussion and practice we gain an understanding of how cognitive load can inform the way we design lessons and activities in the classroom. We drew insights from our Understood collaboration over the course of 18-20, and incorporated a rich body of academic research. This VLM is recommended as a way to help shift mindset for school teams, and for schools to think about reaching their most vulnerable students in the physical classroom, as well as virtually.
